Water: Water best with the tide rising just before high tide. The water becomes flat and is about waist deep at full high tide. No waves, completely flat water. Some current movement around the tide change creates a little chop through the channel. Shark Bay is an ideal place to learn. Shallow water Flat or Choppy Water Waves
Beach: Soft beach, no shells with bushes surrounding. Can become limited with space at high tide, but the water is shallow so launching in the water is not a problem. Safe swimming and riding beach.
Weather: Water is warmer than the rest of Cape Town and you can use a shorty or full wetsuit. Best time is October to March when the SE blows more often.
