Melkbos picks up more swell but less wind than Tableview beach front, so its often the best option when its flat and windy after a few days of South Easter.
The beach is very wide, not great for spectators or family, and there are no facilities.
Cross shore and occasional cross offshore winds with beach break conditions. Good for wave riding and wave jumping.

Water: The spot is behind a point break. Beware! When the waves look small and nice near where you launch, they can get huge further down. Happens because the bigger waves turn into the bay. Waves can be very good for wave riding. Shallow water Flat or Choppy Water Waves
Beach: Nice sandy beach. Unfortunately, a lot of kelp on it at times, so you can get your lines caught. Quite a bit of space to launch. About 200m downwind, there is a barrier of rocks going out, but it's easy to stay away from it.
Weather: Long wetsuits needed all year round - although people were seen in shorties some times. Air around 30C in the summer, down to 15C in the winter. The water is pretty cold, around 10-15C in the summer and 13-17C in the winter. The longer the South Easter (prevailing summer wind) blows, the colder the surface water gets. Doesn't matter much in summer though. Long wetsuit is necessary. Kite surfing is possible all year round.
